NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF UNIVERSITY WOMEN

Rededication Ceremony

LEADER:

Again, dear members, we have set aside this sacred moment to renew our allegiance to the ideas and ideologies of our beloved National Association of University Women.  Ever since its inception in 1910, this organization has been a guiding light and impelling force in the educational circles of the United States and abroad.  Due to the many new facets of our culture, it is imperative that we stop and review these guiding precepts which have meant so much to our lives.  Therefore, to answer anew the thoughts raised when we became members of the National Association of University Women is both necessary and pleasant.  In the light of these statements, do you still desire to remain a working and contributing member of the National Association of University Women?

RESPONSE:

I do

LEADER:

Before all your colleagues, please your right hand and repeat after me.

RESPONSE:

I, (YOUR NAME), do solemnly pledge to support the purpose and concepts of the National Association of University Women.  I solemnly pledge to abide by the rules and regulations of both national and local constitutions.  I pledge to pay all legally constituted financial obligations when required to do so.  I pledge my interest, my energy and my time to promote the progress of the National Association of University Women.

LEADER:

And now my dear members, the spirit of our great founders and our national officers, who have brought us thus far, evidence great pleasure over your pledge of rededication.  May the light of the National Association of University Women help lead all people of the world to better understanding of the abundant life.

ALL:

Our dear and heavenly Father, please let Your wisdom and Your mercy descend upon our hearts.  May we search our hearts and strengthen our latent talent so badly needed in the world today.  May we constantly try to use the opportunities You place before us as a means of solving the problems of our sisters and brothers who are less fortunate in the area of world brotherhood.   This is our prayer and we ask it in Thy name. Amen.
